Deloitte Centre Official Opening

16 January 2024

Yesterday morning we marked the completion of Commercial Bay with the official opening of One Queen Street, now known as the Deloitte Centre. The celebration was officiated by our Chair, Anne Urlwin. It followed a dawn blessing by Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei, who have also gifted the building the Māori name, Te Kaha, which embodies strength and the notion that many strands or groups together make something stronger.

Our ambition for One Queen Street was to create a fully integrated second stage of Commercial Bay - a world class waterfront destination for Tāmaki. Our decision to redevelop rather than rebuild this building has resulted in a significant reduction in embodied carbon throughout construction and has meant this will be the first 6 Star Green Star rated mixed-use building in New Zealand. Levels 6 to 11 of this building encompass the 139-room 5 Star InterContinental Hotels & Resorts which is opening at the end of this month. The hotel restaurant ‘Advieh’ will be helmed by renowned chef Gareth Stewart.

Levels 12 to 20 of the building accommodate 14,000 sqm of premium office space and we were delighted to welcome Deloitte to their new home this morning. We look forward to welcoming our other clients, including Bell Gully soon.

We are incredibly proud to reach this completion milestone and recognise the huge efforts by so many. Thank you to all who have contributed to our vision and making it a reality – LT McGuinness Ltd., WARREN AND MAHONEY, RCP, Holmes Aus & NZ, NDY, Rider Levett Bucknall, Thompson Blackie Biddles, Chapman Tripp, Iain Purdie, Paul Singleton, Tim Woods, Michael Harman, Dr. Emily Cormack.
