Precinct is leading the transformation of Auckland’s Downtown Carpark site, an ambitious, once-in-a-generation project that will redefine the western edge of Tāmaki Makaurau’s city centre.
Seamlessly integrated into the Commercial Bay precinct, the development represents the next chapter in the area’s evolution, creating Auckland’s newest mixed-use destination.
Building on the success of Commercial Bay, the redevelopment will enhance east–west connectivity across the city, strengthening links between the city centre and waterfront while creating new opportunities for people to work, meet and connect.
New public laneways and a central podium beneath two high-rise towers will establish a seamless journey from Britomart in the east to the Viaduct in the west, improving accessibility and enhancing the experience of the city centre.
A cornerstone of the project is Precinct’s partnership with Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei, mana whenua of the site. Through cultural leadership, design integration and social procurement initiatives, the collaboration ensures tikanga Māori values are embedded throughout the development, creating meaningful outcomes for Aucklanders and contributing to a more connected and inclusive city.
