Precinct Properties has today announced a $298 million development at One Queen Street (currently HSBC House), comprising a luxury hotel, with premium office accommodation above and a variety of unique food and beverage options including a roof-top bar, positioned in an unrivalled location on Auckland’s waterfront.

The new flagship hotel, InterContinental Auckland, managed and operated by InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), will occupy 11 levels of the building and provide a total of 244 guest rooms and suites, together with a restaurant, meeting suites, health club and club lounge facilities.

One Queen will complement the $1 billion Commercial Bay lifestyle district, which boasts the largest concentration of high quality retail and food and beverage offering in the city and the striking new PwC Tower, a 39-level office tower with 39,000m2 of premium office space.

The world-class waterfront development is destined to become Auckland’s newest, shopping, dining and social hub, offering a variety of food and beverage outlets that are perfectly complemented by the InterContinental Auckland’s luxury dining experience.

Scott Pritchard, Precinct’s CEO said, “The launch of One Queen is further evidence of Precinct’s role in creating a world class waterfront destination on par with other global cities. Securing InterContinental, one of the world’s most recognised luxury hotel brands, reflects the high demand from operators for this unparalleled waterfront location.

“The mixed-use development of One Queen Street will significantly enhance Commercial Bay for retail, business and visitors alike. To have such a large area operating seamlessly under single ownership and management provides a unique opportunity to generate strong synergies between the uses. We believe this offering will further support the Commercial Bay retail precinct, particularly food and beverage, as it will attract a new type of customer.”

Being part of such an iconic precinct ensures the hotel, food & beverage, retail and commercial components form a symbiotic relationship.
