One Queen Street to be named Deloitte Centre

09 August 2021

Precinct Properties are proud to announce a major leasing deal with Deloitte for One Queen Street, which will be named Deloitte Centre.

Building on the success of the $1bn Commercial Bay lifestyle precinct, One Queen Street occupies the most prominent position in Auckland’s city centre, sitting at the waterfront end of Queen Street with frontage to Quay Street.

Recognising the potential of the prestigious One Queen development, Deloitte has committed to a 20-year lease comprising a total of 7,500 square metres of office space, which covers all the remaining high rise office space across levels 15 to 20.

Precinct CEO Scott Pritchard said, “Securing this long-term commitment from a high-quality business like Deloitte to a landmark waterfront location in a premium redeveloped building reflects the strong demand for prime inner city office space.”

“This demonstrates the value that businesses are placing on being located in a high-quality office space and in particular the benefits of being located in the Commercial Bay precinct.”

Deloitte Chair Thomas Pippos and Chief Executive Mike Horne said, “The Deloitte team are excited to be relocating to One Queen Street and to be part of the wider Commercial Bay community and associated amenities. The flexibility afforded by the scale and nature of the floorplates provides an opportunity to create an exceptional work environment for our teams and clients, framed by the natural beauty of the Waitematā Harbour. We are also pleased to retain the exposure of our brand on the Auckland skyline, with the building to be known as the Deloitte Centre.

Integrating seamlessly with Commercial Bay, One Queen will comprise a luxury hotel and premium office accommodation, along with a variety of outstanding food and beverage outlets synonymous with the quality for which Precinct Properties’ developments have become renowned.

Levels 6 to 11 of the 5-star Green Star building will encompass the flagship 139-room luxury InterContinental hotel, with the balance of the floors on Levels 12 to 20 accommodating 14,000 square metres of premium grade office space. A rooftop bar will take pride of place on Level 21, affording guests breath-taking waterfront views.

Bell Gully has already secured 4,400 square metres of office space within the building. This leaves just two low rise floors that are not committed, and Precinct anticipates offering these floors as premium office suites ranging in size from 200 to 250 square metres.

Bell Gully’s Managing Partner Haydn Wong said, “Our commitment to One Queen in 2018 was a significant one for Bell Gully. We are delighted to now be joined at One Queen by Deloitte, another market-leading professional services company. We look forward to continuing to work closely with Precinct Properties on this exciting flagship development”.

Scott Pritchard added, “Following the leasing to Deloitte, One Queen is now 95% leased two years before completion – a clear indication that businesses are committed to working in office environments and connected by the sense of community that it brings, not to mention the fantastic array of amenities our developments offer right on their doorstep.”

Construction of the project which commenced earlier this year is now well underway and remains on track, and on budget. Following this successful leasing, Precinct’s current development project pipeline is valued at $0.8 billion on completion and is now 90% leased.
